While this behavior and putting down aspect of women who have masculine associated passions is problematic, I don’t think that is exactly what a ‘pick me’ girl is. As you said widespread use of the term originated on Tik Tok, by Gen Z. And as a Gen Zer myself, a pick me girl is a woman who puts down other woman for being girly, dramatic, or male attention seeking (I.e. the internalized misogyny of what negative female traits). Although some people might be using the term incorrectly, I still think the trend is bringing attention to a lot of problematic issues we (women) all have in regards to how we view other women and how we want to be viewed by men!
